Career Opportunities
Account Coordinators
The Account Coordinator position requires experience in a professional setting, including relevant internships. The AC will build, manage and maintain “foundation materials for client account teams including editorial calendars; media, blogger and analyst lists; and speaking and award databases. The AC will act as the day-to-day contact for clients on all speaking and award opportunities. ACs act as the team resource for vendors such as BusinessWire, PR News, Cision and Factivia, and must demonstrate a solid understanding of clients’ technologies and their market. Positions are available in our Boston Office.
Account Executives
Account Executives must have at least two years of PR experience in an agency setting. They will manage anywhere from two to four accounts based on the team structure. AEs take an active role in executing all core elements of the clients’ PR program. They must be able to team with the SAE to drive client media and analyst relations campaigns and are tasked with supporting and managing the daily tasks of ACs and Interns. Positions are available in our Boston and San Francisco Offices
Senior Account Executives
Senior Account Executives will have a minimum of three years of experience in an agency setting. The SAE serves as a primary day-to-day client contact, interfacing with clients on the execution of tactical and strategic program elements. SAEs are responsible for the daily oversight of ACs and AEs. They will provide proactive management and professional development guidance to direct reports. From time to time they participate and/or lead the development of account strategy and tactics with senior team members. Positions are available in our Boston Office.
Account Manager
Account Managers have at least four years of PR experience and the leadership skills to manage one to four people and two to five accounts. The AM is responsible for overseeing the daily account activity and ensuring the execution of client programs. The AM will provide day-to-day management of ACs, AEs, and SAEs on their team and is responsible for their career growth.
Account Director
Directors play a multi-faceted role at SHIFT Communications. They manage their team P&L and are responsible for the overall success of accounts - including strategy, major launches/news and ongoing PR programs, staffing and budgeting. In addition, they run agency projects (i.e.: new business initiatives) and participate in the continued success of the agency. They act as mentors/coaches to senior members of the account team and manage the participation/flow of information to the principals and VPs.
Internship Opportunities
Our internship program provides an excellent opportunity to experience the public relations industry first-hand and learn from seasoned professionals in the field. To facilitate growth and ensure appropriate exposure to the various facets of public relations, each intern will be matched with an account manager on their start date. The account manager will serve as the intern’s primary point of contact within the agency to answer any questions and assist with overall project management. There are no summer internship opportunites available at this time.
